Abstract

PAREJA SANCHEZ, Norma. The 2015 Mid-term Federal Electoral Campaigns on Radio and TV Entertainment and Magazine-format Shows as Seen through the National Electoral Institute’s Monitoring. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2018, vol.33, n.94, pp.303-339. ISSN 2007-8358.

The aim of this article is to analyze results of the National Electoral Institute’s monitoring of radio and television information about candidates during the 2015 federal election campaigns. The author focuses in particularly on entertainment and magazine-format shows. Outstanding among the findings is the fact that, albeit to a small extent, there was mention and time dedicated to the electoral campaigns in programs of this type, fundamentally on radio. These mentions were more frequent during the political pre-campaigns, which could be a violation of the legal framework for political communications.

Keywords : National Electoral Institute monitoring; political-electoral campaigns; entertainment; mass media.
