Abstract

TRUJANO RUIZ, María Magdalena. The Emergence of Egalitarian and Apocalyptic Subjectivities. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.100, pp.259-276.  Epub Mar 09, 2021. ISSN 2007-8358.

This article analyzes the extreme cultural constructions of egalitarianism and the apocalypse to show them to be the result of the valuative neo-secular emergence of subjectivities on the sociological disciplinary horizon. The author traces sociological analytical pertinence from Norbert Elias to Giles Lipovetsky and Ulrich Beck to study its origins from the sociocultural reconfiguration of the legitimation of hedonism and risk (the precursor to violence), to explain the development of its (provisional) extreme meanings of equality and apocalypse, both in the case of inclusions/exclusions and in that of agreements/disagreements, hedonisms, and violence.

Keywords : hedonism; risk; violence; inclusive/exclusionary subjectivities.
