Abstract

IZQUIERDO, Isabel; ESTRADA, Olga Nelly  and  STINCER, Dení. Mexican academics women in pandemic times. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2022, vol.37, n.105, e0001.  Epub Nov 18, 2022. ISSN 2007-8358.

The research presented here delves into the experiences of Mexican women academics during the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic and aims to identify the tensions they felt and the coping mechanisms they used to deal with it. For this qualitative exploratory study, the authors carried out semi-structured interviews with a group of public university professors from four regions of Mexico. The results clearly showed a series of tensions in their academic, personal, family, and domestic lives, as well as the actions they took both individually and collaboratively to deal with them.

Keywords : pandemic; women academics; tensions; coping mechanisms.
