Abstract

The paper describes the functional performance of 38 websites of Brazilian government law libraries, including those of the Federal Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, the Legislative Assembly, Public Ministries and Courts. A checklist was used to verify six categories of functions: informational, promotional, educational, referential, research and communication. Results underline different performance levéis: Information function highlights as the best performer while the communication function achieved a low score.
