Abstract

The results of fostering literary reading intervention through dialogic reading are hereby presented. The main strategies were Dialogic Literary Gatherings, besides a Participatory-Action Research. 17 different persons with diverse university formation participated in it along 20 face-to-face sessions. The main objective of this was to promote the habit of reading fostering the critical and dialogical abilities of participants, and the search of reading materials on their own account, as well as the sharing of these experiences with friends and relatives. Particularly, objectives were to foster the pleasure reading of literature, to disseminate bookstores and libraries in the city, and to encourage the social reading experiences in the development of reading and dialogical habits. Printed and digital reading materials were recurred to, as well as movies, songs and images. It was found that the strategy used was favorable for the promotion of reading for pleasure, the development of reading habits and the strengthening of critical and dialogical readings.
