Abstract

RONDA-PUPO, Guillermo Armando. Productivity and Citation Impact of the Latin American and the Caribbean Science System in domestic journals. Investig. bibl [online]. 2021, vol.35, n.88, pp.45-62.  Epub Oct 18, 2021. ISSN 2448-8321.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iibi.24488321xe.2021.88.58358.

The object of this study is to analyze the growth pat- terns of the Latin American and Caribean scientific production in the magazines and its citation-based impact using allometric modeling. We analyzed 179 219 Latin American documents published from 2000 through 2017 in JCR journals that appear hosted in a Latin American country that received 233 352 citations. The citation-based impact was assessed using a three-year fix window of citation (t0 + 2). The resulting exponent was α = 0,75± 0.02, suggesting that scientific production grows faster than its impact.

Keywords : Allometry; Citation Impact; Power- Law; Self-Similar.
