Abstract

SANTOS PEREZ, Ana Cristina. Think about information from complexity to library science. Investig. bibl [online]. 2023, vol.37, n.94, pp.129-143.  Epub Dec 04, 2023. ISSN 2448-8321.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iibi.24488321xe.2023.94.58691.

The main purpose of this paper is to present the concept of information as a complex object, that is, as a multivariable object of study from the perspective of complexity. This approach breaks the unique vision in the conceptual modeling of the term, overcoming the univocity in the meaning of the information; it is about embracing the issue as a slice of reality from social science. Thinking about information with a renewed meaning, interwoven with different systems, reveals its complex structure, through its different manifestations, as a proposal for the discovery of new research routes from library science and information studies.

Keywords : Information; Complexity; Complexity thought.
