This work review the events related to the presence of hypoxic and ischemic disorders in the perinatal period, such as: the condition at birth, the birth weight, the maturational stage of the central nervous system (SNC), the extension and duration of the injury, the presence of accompany iIInesses, neuroinfection, malnutrition, poor environmental stimulation, metabolic derangements, toxic alterations, among other. These are factors that may converge constituting combinations of risks that may induces the presence and severity of the subsequent neurological damage. With this perspective, the secondary neurological damage to the hypoxicischemic is clarified as a process that can derive in the manifestation of neurological sequels, such as, cerebral paralysis, mental deficiency, auditory or visual sensorial alterations, and seizures, among other.
