Abstract
HERRERA GARCIA, Emma Leticia; MC PHAIL FANGER, Elsie and SALAZAR TORRES, Citlali. El monumento a Álvaro Obregón, arte y política: Una obra y un héroe mutilados. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2009, vol.22, n.61, pp.193-219. ISSN 0187-5795.
This article offers the frst results of an interdisciplinary analysis of the Monument devoted to Alvaro Obregon, which was built between the years 1934 and 1935 in the city of Mexico precisely on the spot where he was murdered. Little research was found on the monument itself, so this article provides a theoretical framework which articulates art history and social sciences, in an interdisciplinary effort to characterize this monument as an expression of power with multiple dimensions.
Keywords : monument; art; power; interdisciplinary study.
