Abstract

BINIMELIS ESPINOZA, Helder. Hacia una sociedad del conocimiento como emancipación: una mirada desde la teoría crítica. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2010, vol.23, n.62, pp.203-224. ISSN 0187-5795.

This article proposes the recovery of Critical Theory with the purpose of reflecting about Knowledge Society. On first place, the paper discusses the economicist and anti- technological absences, silences, and theoretical reductionisms. Secondly, it highlights the main conflicts and exclusions produced by dominant social actors that ideologically legitimate and naturalize development views. Finally, taking into account the experience of individual and collective users of information and communication technologies, and the appearance of new or renewed social and political values, it is proposed a theoretical discussion about a new Knowledge Society based on emancipation.

Keywords : knowledge society; critical theory; emancipation.
