Abstract

RODRIGUEZ NAVA, Abigail  and  VENEGAS MARTINEZ, Francisco. Posmodernismo, racionalidad económica y racionalidad ética. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2010, vol.23, n.64, pp.221-242. ISSN 0187-5795.

This paper contrasts the concepts of economic rationality and ethical rationality, which intend to provide direction and sense for the individual and collective actions in the postmodern period. This research examines the foundations of ethics from moral philosophy, mainly in their modern and postmodern stages; also, this paper analyzes the process of construction and evolution of ethics, emphasizing the participation of the science and the society. The investigation concludes with a reflection about the ethical archetype we need; is it sufficient to orient our actions by the economic rationality consensus? Or do we need an ethical rationality?

Keywords : postmodernism; rationality; ethics; individualism.
