Abstract

ANGELES CASTRO, Gerardo. Trend and prospect of the global economy and its impact on the Mexican economy. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.70, pp.129-148. ISSN 0187-5795.

In this study, it is illustrated that the economic crisis of 2008-2009 has not been overtaken and, although México has low levels of public debt and has returned to the rate of economic growth that had before the crisis, its level of economic growth is still low, as a result of the slowdown of exports, which is also the result of the global recession. Under these circumstances, it is important to diversify the production of national goods and to improve their competitiveness, in order to reduce demand for imports, strengthen the domestic market and strengthen exports.

Keywords : global crisis; mexican economy; recovery policies.
