Abstract

In this article the main activities that contribute to technological learning in Guanajuato's manufacturing industry are described and analyzed. The central questions this article tries to answer are: What is technological learning and what are the main technological learning activities? What kind of technological learning activities (TLA) do manufacturing firms in Guanajuato undertake? And, What factors influence in the learning technological process and in tla undertake in these firms? The results of the study show the heterogeneity of the manufacturing industry in Guanajuato; the type and intensity of the TLA as well as the weak absorptive capacities are limiting the potential of the firm's innovation capabilities.
