Abstract

NUNES, Albino Oliveira  and  DANTAS, Josivânia Marisa. Relationship Between Science-Technology-Society-Enviroment (STSE) and The Attitudes of Undergraduate Chemistry Students. Educ. quím [online]. 2012, vol.23, n.1, pp.85-90. ISSN 0187-893X.

Attitudes and beliefs about the relationships between science-technology-society-environment (STSE) represent an important function on science teacher's view and in consequence the view transmitted to their students. This present work aims to identify beliefs and attitudes that chemistry students of the University of the State of Rio Grande do Norte - UERN - have about the theme. Starting by the emergent paradigm, it looks for elements from qualitative and quantitative paradigms to find evidences and it avoids the traditional separation Qualitative vs. Quantitative usually find on research in Science Education. We interviewed 48 chemistry students. A Likert scale and a questionnaire with open questions were used.

Keywords : attitudes; beliefs; STSE; chemistry.
