Abstract

CUELLAR LOPEZ, Zully; RODRIGUEZ, Leiber  and  GARRITZ, Andoni. The great ideas on biodiversity and the Content Representation of a student-teacher: Visit of a professor of Universidad Surcolombiana. Educ. quím [online]. 2015, vol.26, n.1, pp.2-8. ISSN 0187-893X.

This paper presents the research results to search for, develop, document and portray the most important element of a Pre-Service Biology Teacher pedagogical practice, his Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) through the Content Representation (CoRe) on the concept of Biodiversity. The Student-Teacher is doing his Pre-service at the University Surcolombiana de Neiva-Huila, in the Undergraduate Natural Sciences Program: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. PCK, considered as an amalgam made of Subject Matter and Pedagogy, allows to strength the professional knowledge of Preservice Teachers, contributing to solve the tension between those who defend that Subject Matter is more than enough to teach and those that postulate that pedagogy is what is needed. A qualitative research is done to construct the CoRe of Loughran et al. (2004) to generate knowledge on teaching biodiversity and on the future professionals in training to make a stronger science education.

Keywords : Student Teacher; PCK; CoRe; biodiversity.
