Abstract

ALANIS-GARCIA, Mario A.  and  GRACIA-FADRIQUE, Jesús. Volmer surface equation of state: simple liquids and surfactants. Educ. quím [online]. 2018, vol.29, n.2, pp.36-50. ISSN 0187-893X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fq.18708404e.2018.1.63704.

The Volmer surface equation of state, belongs to the family of van der Waals equations; the deviation from ideality resides in a single parameter interpreted as second two-dimensional virial coefficient. Coupled whit the Gibbs adsorption equation, it generates the corresponding surface equation as a function of the bulk composition under dilution or saturation condition.

Keywords : Volmer isotherm; surface tension; surface equation of state; second virial coefficient; surface chemical potential.
