Abstract

ZARIFIAN, Philippe. Marx and the Social Sex Relations. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2003, vol.65, n.4, pp.863-887. ISSN 2594-0651.

Although Karl Marx never referred to "relations between the sexes" (rapports sociaux du sexe), he did create the intellectual tools for thinking about this concept which is anchored in "social relations". In this text, the author seeks to explain the reasons behind this academic "omission", on the one hand, and to use Marx's concepts to explain the "relations between the sexes" through women's job qualifications (qualification du travail), on the other.

Keywords : social relations; relations between the sexes; female labor.
