Abstract

SUAREZ, Hugo José. Word an Sense: Analysis of Joaquin Sabina's Discourse. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2006, vol.68, n.1, pp.49-79. ISSN 2594-0651.

This article attempts to show how the Structural Contents Analysis Method, devised in the 1970s at the Catholic University of Louvain works by using it to analyze the songs of Spanish singer-songwriter Joaquín Sabina. Once the main meaning codes have been decoded, the author proceeds to reflect on the implication of this discourse, by pointing out the features of a new cultural model based on the well-being of the individual and his desire to "have a good time".

Keywords : structural analysis; qualitative methodology; meaning systems; cultural production.
