The article analyzes the ethnic axis of inequality in Brazil. An overview of ethnic-race relations is presented in order to report how the Brazilian social sciences have taken account of this divide; some indicators portray income and education inequalities between the main ethnic categories in the country. The article leads to the conclusion that an ethnic conflict underlies Brazilian society.
