Abstract

ROMERO RAMIREZ, Antonio José. War and Peace. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2008, vol.70, n.3, pp.589-617. ISSN 2594-0651.

In spite of being a dramatic, transcendent and global social occurrence, it is, at least surprising how little attention the social sciences have paid to the phenomenon of war. However, in order to achieve a complete understanding of its nature and, even, real knowledge on the possibilities for peace, an interdisciplinary approach will be necessary. Thus, the path to peace will require deep transformations of a psychological, social, political economic and cultural nature and, therefore, the configuration of a world order that is quite removed from its current coordinates.

Keywords : War; Psychology of Peace; interdisciplinary approach; Third World.
