Abstract

GONZALEZ CHAVARRIA, Alexander. Transitional justice and reparation for victims in Colombia. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2010, vol.72, n.4, pp.629-658. ISSN 2594-0651.

This article describes a typical dilemma that occurs as a result of the application of a transitional justice model as a normative framework guiding the current process of negotiation with paramilitary groups in Colombia. It exemplifies the type of institutional requirements that contextualize and delimit the validity and viability of the transitional justice approach, particularly if the central objective is the integral reparation of the damage caused to the victims of the internal armed conflict.

Keywords : transitional justice; Colombian armed conflict; victims; paramilitarism; peace processes; Colombia.
