Abstract

ARELLANO HERNANDEZ, Antonio. Socio-technical collaborative capital and antigraffiti innovation. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2012, vol.74, n.1, pp.99-132. ISSN 2594-0651.

This text explores the link between innovation and socio-technical collaboration. The categories of social capital and innovation are compared with the empirical results of ethnographic observations on the work of an applied physics research group in order to show the ups and downs involved in the development of a socio-technical network. The results show the value of collaboration between the actors involved in undertaking scientific and technological research, which culminated in the launching of an antigraffiti onto the market, and learning, which remains as a socio-technical value.

Keywords : social capital; collaborative capital; antigraffiti; techno-scientific innovation; ethnography of laboratories; socio-technical networks.
