Abstract

ARGUELLO PAZMINO, Sofía. The politicization of sexuality: identities and frameworks that lend meaning to collective action. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2013, vol.75, n.2, pp.173-200. ISSN 2594-0651.

This paper presents a study of how sexual identities are politicized. By so doing it aims to create a sociological-analytical model for collective action in the context of sexuality. It seeks to present a dialogue between two camps in the debate: on the one hand, there are the reflections on processes involved in the shaping of identities (identification processes) and group formation; on the other, the contributions that the sociology of sexuality, feminism and gender have made to the study of these themes.

Keywords : politicization; sexuality; identities; collective action.
