Abstract

BELTRAN NIEVES, Fernando Rodrigo. A sociological portrait of Ernesto Sabato. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2017, vol.79, n.4, pp.785-809. ISSN 2594-0651.

In order for readers unfamiliar with the Argentinian writer Ernesto Sabato to understand the most significant moments of his intellectual trajectory, this essay provides a biographical portrait of the three passions that marked his life: science, politics and literature. How does an artist emerge? What social processes affect a writer’s decisions in the long term? Why did Sabato disbelieve science? How can all these stories be told? These are some of the key questions in this sociological essay which incorporates narrative.

Keywords : Ernesto Sabato; case analysis; essay; narrative.
