Abstract

GASTON WAINER, Andrés. Economics and politics in Kirchner’s Argentina (2003-2015). Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2018, vol.80, n.2, pp.323-351. ISSN 2594-0651.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2018.2.57720.

Argentina was governmed by Kirchnerism for twelve years (2003-2015). This period had two different economic phases: one with high growth rates and significant social improvements, and the other with poor economic performance and less social progress. In this context, this article seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the achievements and limits of the economic and social project of Kirchnerism. The central hypothesis posits a close link between the limitations of the growth and distribution process, Argentinian’s productive structure and the main socio-political interests involved.

Keywords : kirchnerism; Argentina; balance of payments constraint; social classes.
