Abstract

RODRIGUEZ ROCHA, Eduardo. Sikh migrants’ perceptions of well-being in Córdoba, Argentina. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2019, vol.81, n.2, pp.361-388. ISSN 2594-0651.

This article analyzes the factors which, from the perspective of a group of tradesmen of Indian-Sikh origin who own retail bazaars in the city of Córdoba, affect their social well-being. Specifically, these migrants use the economic practices observed by other merchants from China, who also own bazaars in the city, as a benchmark for evaluating their own conditions of production and social reproduction. The paper uses information from an ethnographic study undertaken in downtown Cordoba.

Keywords : transnationalism; India; perceptions; inequality.
