Abstract

BERARDI SPAIRANI, Adrián Pablo. The militant transversality and the political participation. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2020, vol.82, n.3, pp.645-672.  Epub Sep 25, 2020. ISSN 2594-0651.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2020.3.58505.

This article proposes to give an account of how militants engage in different spaces of participation assuming diverse commitments and establishing a process of “multi-positioning or transversality” along their militant trajectory. It analyzes the history of a feminist militant from the province of Jujuy, Argentina, using the career perspective proposed by Howard Becker, which puts for- ward a longitudinal analysis of trajectories considering the objective and subjective aspects of the militant’s account. Methodologically, a qualitative perspective was developed from the use of the life story technique.

Keywords : political participation; women’s participation; Argentina; militant career; political compromise; multi-positioning.
