Abstract
RUIZ CORONEL, Alí. Covid-19 in a homeless family. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2021, vol.83, n.spe2, pp.193-220. Epub Oct 18, 2021. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2021.0.60173.
This investigation aims to find out whether, despite what is commonly claimed, homeless people have been infected with Covid-19. Two hypotheses were stated: that there have been positive cases, but they have not been registered; that social exclusion guarantees distancing and inhibits contagion. The methodology used consisted of 1) the analysis of information obtained from the press and ngo’s; 2) the ethnographic research of a home- less family unit; 3) biomedical tests of its six members. There were one suspicious, three positive and two negative cases of Covid-19.
