Using the concept of intimate orientations, the article presents and discusses the results of an empirical investigation that seeks to understand how the interpretive frameworks and experience of sexuality are configurated in contemporary Chilean society. It analyzes biographical-narrative interviews with 28 adults 25 to 60 years old, from lower-middle sectors of Santiago de Chile. Finally, by showing its empirical performance, the article demonstrates that the concept of intimate orientations is relevant for studying the sociocultural transformations of sexuality.
