Abstract

NAHUEL DI NAPOLI, Pablo  and  POGLIAGHI, Leticia. Gender-based violence complaints against female high school students. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2022, vol.84, n.4, pp.907-939.  Epub Nov 23, 2022. ISSN 2594-0651.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2022.4.60387.

This article explores gender-based violence complaints presented by Mexican female high school students. It is the result of qualitative research conducted in the five high schools of the Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. It analyzes the number of situations, the kind of violence and the aggressors reported both formally according to the official protocol, and informally through banners (“tendederos públicos”) or social media. It discusses why these informal means are preferred and how the schools’ communities evaluate this practice.

Keywords : students; high school; sexual violence; protocol; complaints.
