Abstract
MARTIN GILLER, Diego. Argentine exile in Mexico. A Latin American reading of Controversia. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2023, vol.85, n.4, pp.923-952. Epub Nov 10, 2023. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2023.4.61145.
The aim of this work is to analyze the publication of the magazine Controversia. Para el Análisis de la Realidad Argentina, which was animated by a heterogenous group of Argentine exiles in Mexico between 1979 and 1981. The working hypothesis is that the way Controversia thematized political defeat, the “crisis of Marxism”, armed struggle, human rights and, particularly, democracy was less the exclusive product of an Argentine “controversy” than the result of the Latin Americanization of exile and the influence of debates within the Mexican left.
