Abstract
DOMINGUEZ SANDOVAL, Eder Alejandro. Antifragility, epistemology of noise and sociology of difference. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2024, vol.86, n.2, pp.473-502. Epub Apr 30, 2024. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2024.2.62278.
This paper proposes introducing the notion of antifragility, coined by Nassim Taleb, into the lexicon of sociology. To this end, certain key points are made to propitiate the discussion about its relevance and future assimilation. The paper puts forward some reflections drawing on what may be called the “epistemology of noise” and the “sociology of difference”. It also formulates certain guidelines to show that sociology’s research horizon is already fairly favorable for adopting this notion and capitalizing on its future developments.
Keywords : antifragility; differentiation; individuation; difference; order; disorder; noise.
