Abstract

IGARTUA, Juan-José. Present trends in communication quantitative studies. Comun. soc [online]. 2012, n.17, pp.15-40. ISSN 0188-252X.

This paper reviews the main trends in quantitative research for communication studies. It argues that the emergence of new techniques of statistical analysis, such as multilevel modelling, has had a substantial impact on the evolution of communication as a scientific discipline, whilst decisively fostering development of more sophisticated theories.
