Abstract

VIZCARRA, Fernando. Representations of modernity in futurist film-making. Comun. soc [online]. 2012, n.17, pp.73-97. ISSN 0188-252X.

This essay purports a typology of futurist representations made in films, using various approaches to modernity addressed by both the social sciences and the humanities. The text remit is laid out in three sections: the first describes the historical processes of modernity; the second discusses the cognitive mediations of futurist cinema and the third addresses some of the attributes regarding contemporary aesthetics of science-fiction.
