ACEVES GONZALEZ, Francisco. From the irruption of sound to explosion of images: A look at the historical development of radio and television in Jalisco: between 1920-1960. Comun. soc [online]. 2012, n.18, pp.13-38. ISSN 0188-252X.

This article discusses the early obstacles faced by radio and television broadcasting in Jalisco. The first section focuses on a period between 1924 and 1955, a period in which radio stations tried to express a regional cultural identity, whilst resisting the economic pressures brought by big corporate competitors from Mexico City. The second part of this piece addresses the historical background and development of the local television industry.
