Abstract

GUERRERO, Mar. TV websites and their users: a place for transmedia storytelling. Case studies of "Águila Roja" and "Game of Thrones" in Spain. Comun. soc [online]. 2014, n.21, pp.239-267. ISSN 0188-252X.

This paper looks into the complexity of transmedia storytelling and fandom productions from an approach that combines semiotics and virtual ethnography. The analysis is based on the Spanish official websites of TYE's Águila Roja and HBO's Game of Thrones TV series. The research concludes with a new proposal of roles played by users whilst their interaction with television websites.

Keywords : Transmedia storytelling; fandom; television websites; usergenerated content; semiotics.
