Abstract

GUTIERREZ VIDRIO, Silvia  and  REYNA RUIZ, Margarita. The role of emotions in encouraging consumption: Analysis of a religious radio program. Comun. soc [online]. 2015, n.23, pp.125-147. ISSN 0188-252X.

Emotions are present in practically every activity that we carry out. In religious discourse emotions, affections and feelings constitute ways of binding communities and providing ways of communicating and remaining united. In this article we discuss how emotions are mobilized in a religious radio program with a specific characteristic: the offer to the public of an emotional experience through the acquisition of a product.

Keywords : Emotion; discourse; religion; consumption; radio.
