Abstract

FLORES-MARQUEZ, Dorismilda. Two countries fit within my heart: Transnational digital activism and political subjectivity among Mexican migrants. Comun. soc [online]. 2019, vol.16, e7260.  Epub May 08, 2019. ISSN 0188-252X.  https://doi.org/10.32870/cys.v2019i0.7260.

This article explores the transnational digital activism practices in relation to political subjectivity among Mexican migrants in the United States. It is a political interrogation of communication practices. The study is based on ethnography, it included semi-structured interviews with Mexican migrants, as well as digital ethnography and observation. The findings enable us to situate these practices in the tension between being far away and close, which implies changes in political subjectivity and expands the ways of participation in the public space in the global age.

Keywords : Digital media; digital activism; public space; migration; Mexico; United States.
