Abstract

SALMERON TELLECHEA, Cecilia. La Salónica by a frustrated dramaturg: metafiction and exile in Morirás lejos. Lit. mex [online]. 2011, vol.22, n.2, pp.157-181. ISSN 2448-8216.

The author studies the metatextuality in Morirás lejos and his relationship with texts about the jewish diaspora. In this essay this fragment is analyzed, as the core of fundamental significance in the text, since it is a play within a novel, and not just a story within a story, the interior duplication, in this case, is anchored in the fields of literary creation; thus, the metatextual possibilities are enhanced. And because, although it is clear that the theme of exile runs across the entire novel, some approaches are missing from this focus. The study of Salónica, as much for the story of its protagonist (Isaac Bar Simón or Pedro Farías de Villalobos) as by the frequent and literal presence in this fragment of the word "exile," can shed light on a new reading that integrates this aspect.

Keywords : José Emilio Pacheco; experimental novel; 20th century Mexican novel; exile.
