Abstract

PASCUCCI, Michele. Hiroshige versified: two handwritten poems by Tablada. Lit. mex [online]. 2012, vol.23, n.1, pp.107-125. ISSN 2448-8216.

This article provides an analysis of two unknown poems by José Juan Tablada (1871-1945). As verses that were inspired by the contemplation of certain woodblock prints by Japanese artist Ando Hiroshige, these compositions highlight the poet's two major interests throughout his career: visual imagery and Oriental culture. The discovery of these works also contributes to a better understanding of the writer's continued literary activity after the height of his poetic trajectory.

Keywords : ekphrasis; hypotiposis; Japonisme; visual image.
