Abstract

CALDERON MARTINEZ, María Guadalupe  and  FLORES PAREDES, Joaquín. Redes de conocimiento en empresas de la industria electrónica en México: una propuesta metodológica. Econ: teor. práct [online]. 2012, n.37, pp.121-143. ISSN 2448-7481.

This article examines the position of leading companies in the electronics sector in Mexico within a knowledge network. The proposed methodology uses citations between patents and the theory of network analysis. According to the investigation results the key players in the network by the number of citations that their patents received are multinational companies that protect their inventions in Mexico. The states where these subsidiaries are especially located are Chihuahua and Baja California, which also coincides with a significant presence of Mexican companies, but not listed in the network. One detected limitation in the use of patent citations is the difference between the codes of the International Patents Classification and other classifications of economic activity, so it can appear companies that are not included in the sector.

Keywords : electronics industry in Mexico; networks; patents; knowledge.
