Abstract

Our aim is to inquire into the experiences and perceptions of a group of women from a city of northern Mexico that have been diagnosed with human papilloma virus, dysplasia and cervical cancer. There were thirty-four qualitative interviews, it was identified that women experience the diagnosis as a stigma because alludes to his sexuality, fidelity and religious beliefs, so, they set up protective strategies to avoid being stigmatized.
