Abstract

PEINADO GUEVARA, Víctor Manuel; PEINADO GUEVARA, Héctor José; CAMPISTA LEON, Samuel  and  DELGADO RODRIGUEZ, Omar. Analysis of agricultural production and water management in irrigation module 063 of Mexico. Estud. soc [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.46, pp.114-136. ISSN 0188-4557.

It was performed an statistical analysis about the water's management and agricultural productivity, developed in the irrigation module 063 in the cycles 2007 to 2012. The profit per hectare was calculated. It was found that corn, chickpea and beans offered profit margins but with important differences in the water consumption. Regarding to the water management per module, the results showed that there weren't significative differences in the water suminister but in its productivity. Based on it, is proposed to reconsider the hydro agricultural programming in support to the statistical analysis and in times of scarcity, be able to have alternative proposals representing a viable choice for farmers.

Keywords : net income; water shortage; agricultural; water economy; sustainability.
