Abstract

SORIA SANCHEZ, Graciela; PALACIO MUNOZ, Víctor Herminio  and  TRUJILLO ORTEGA, Laura Elena. Networks of solidarity collaboration for food self-sufficiency: a proposal for rural population. Estud. soc [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.46, pp.242-270. ISSN 0188-4557.

The article analyzes the current scene of food in México. It also roughs out a proposal of food self-sufficiency according to the solidarity collaboration network model (SCN). The study found that safety and food sovereignty in Mexico is weak due to multiple factors, mainly those related to global market. The model SCN represents an alternative to the dominant economic system, so our proposal considers a production and consumption chain (co-partnership) centered on the locality. The proposal represents a strategy aimed at the most vulnerable rural population in order to organize integrally the production-consumption and diversify food of high nutritional value.

Keywords : food; nutrition; market; solidarity; production; teamwork.
