CALLEJAS JUAREZ, Nicolás; TERRONES CORDERO, Aníbal and ORTEGA GUTIERREZ, Juan Ángel. Agricultural income distribution in Chihuahua, Mexico 2009. Estud. soc [online]. 2016, vol.24-25, n.47, pp.130-146. ISSN 0188-4557.
This investigation analyzes income distribution inequality of the agricultural producers of Chihuahua, Mexico. This was across the Gini Coefficient (GC). Net Income (NI) was used, as well as, government transferences and the value of assets of the agricultural producers. The producers were stratified in nine groups considering the asset value and marginality grade. The GC of NI for farmers was 74%, agriculture 81%, livestock 70%, government transferences 71% and assets 75%. 50% of the producers with high assets accumulated 54% of agricultural income, while 67% with low marginalization 71%. For livestock producers, 96% of the NI focused on producers with high assets and 70% in producers with low marginalization.
