Abstract

JAUREGUI OSTOS, Ernesto. Algunos aspectos de las fluctuaciones pluviométricas en México en los últimos cien años. Invest. Geog [online]. 1979, n.9, pp.39-64. ISSN 2448-7279.

Instrumental precipitation records since the last quarter of the XIX century show that significant rainfall fluctuations have ocurred in Central and Northern Mexico. The driest period occurred in the last decade of the last century. Other dry periods were the late 1940's and first part of the fifties Wet periods in Central Mexico were observed in the thirties and sixties. A decreasing trend has been observed during the first part of the seventies. An attempt is made to explain these changes in terms of fluctuations in the strenght of the Westerlies.
