Chinampa's agriculture has been, historically, a source of supply of vegetables for Tenochtitlan-Mexico. At present, this area is facing the major problems since its origin. Pollution and physical expansion of Mexico city are some of the causes of this problem. A fast action is necessary in order to avoid the gradual disappearance of the chinampa area.
