Abstract

GUTIERREZ DE MACGREGOR, María Teresa  and  GONZALEZ SANCHEZ, Jorge. Las costas mexicanas y su crecimiento urbano. Invest. Geog [online]. 1999, n.40, pp.110-126. ISSN 2448-7279.

The significant urban population growth registered during the 1900 - 1995 period, in the coastal areas of Mexico can be linked to an extraordinary process in which internal migration has played a central role in the resulting urban population distribution. The urban population growth in the coasts were more rapid that population growth in the whole country, this indicate the preference of the inmigrants by the coastal areas.

Keywords : Mexican coasts; urban growth; urban distribution.
