Abstract

LAPIDUS RADLOW, Batia. Transformaciones económicas en los noventa y cambios espaciales en la provincia Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba. Invest. Geog [online]. 2000, n.41, pp.149-170. ISSN 2448-7279.

The end of the Twentieth Century has been a difficult time for Cuba. To alleviate this, a series of economic reforms were put into practice and, gradually, the regional dimensions of such actions have become apparent, particularly in the case of the Havana City province, in this context, the following lines examine the territorial implications of such reforms, especially referred to specific sectors of the local economy. The end of the study outline some reflections on the adjusting capacities of the territory, emphasising the role of society, both participating and benefiting from the process.

Keywords : Economic transformations; economic territorial impact; Havana.
