Abstract

GIL MARTINEZ, Joaquín. Affective recognition as moral content. Feuerbach in dialogue: Fichte, Hegel, Honneth. Tópicos (México) [online]. 2015, n.49, pp.54-79. ISSN 0188-6649.

Feuerbach's philosophy represents a significant step in overcoming certain philosophical tradition based on purely speculative and metaphysical categories; and this from an ethical and anthropological understanding which is directly related to the perspective of reciprocal recognition. However, the relevance that the affective dimension reaches in Feuerbach's ethical proposal problematizes the possibility of considering recognition as a normative moral content, when formulating pretensions to universality. In this sense, this paper offers a reflection on Feuerbach's ethics validity nowadays parting from the reconstruction of the recognition perspective and taking into account both its limits and possibilities.

Keywords : Recognition; affectivity; self-consciousness; ethical life; morality.
